What a busy 3 weeks we have had since the holidays! The children have all enjoyed sharing and singing
their favourite songs, rhymes and moving in different ways. For the unit’s summative assessment the
children will perform several items for your enjoyment on Friday May 31, at the
morning assembly at 9am. Please mark
your calendar. Thank you.
·
Show and Tell for the rest of the term is something that begins
with the letter of your child’s first name or nick name.
·
Thai Culture Day on April 26 gave the children some experience of
traditional Thai activities. These activities live on today and are much
enjoyed, especially throwing water on each other! The children also ate
heartily at the kantoke table of chicken, somtum and sticky rice.
·
Student Led Conference day on May 1st was an exciting day for parents and
students. The children displayed
confidence and joy while showing their parents what they do at school. Thank you for your attendance to support your
child’s learning.
·
End of year concert: The children have already begun practicing songs for
their concert performance on Wednesday June 12th at the K3
Graduation. This year it will be at our Kindergarten campus. We are singing ‘APIK’ and ‘Inanay’.
We would like your child
to wear the school PE uniform of shorts and shirt, thank you. An APIK summer school t/shirt
could also be worn with dark blue/denim shorts.
·
Wednesday is swimming day.
Your child must have a separate swim bag for suit, towel and cap
for girls.
·
Library day. Please don’t
forget to return the library book in the library bag on a Friday.
·
Hat: Please make sure
your child has a hat at school.
We are looking forward to the
last 5 weeks of our fourth term. Your
children have all further developed the attributes of being inquirers, being
reflective and taking responsibility for their learning since returning from the April holidays.
It is great to see them asking and
answering questions displaying their curiosity and knowledge.
Thanking
you.

Please assist us in this process of inquiry based
learning by completing the following during the Songkran break.
·
Ask
your child to select his/her favorite song or rhyme and have him/her bring a
copy or in a book to class during the first week after the Songkran holidays.
·
Please
use your first language to ask your child why it is their favorite song or
rhyme and send the answer in your child’s communication folder.
We would appreciate your support and encouragement

News from K1/H : February 26 to March 22, 2013
Thank you to parents for supporting their children in their
learning during this term’s UOI ’Air, Food and Water’. Over the past 4 weeks we have been
exploring: How do our air, food and
water change and how can we look after these resources? We observed:
·
Simple
experiments with ice and water measurement
·
Dehydrated
foods to hydrated
·
Fresh
fruit smoothies
This Unit of Inquiry has provided
the children with lots of learning opportunities and they now have more
awareness of how important air, food and water are to their lives and to the
future of our earth.
·
Love
to Read Week: The children listened to
stories every morning at Assembly. We had fun travelling to the MBC and the
children and were in awe of seeing the elementary students performing songs in
the musical ‘Pirates’. Today K3 and
Grade 1 performed shorts plays for everyone’s enjoyment. It was a fun week. The children who brought books to swap were
pleased with their new books. Thank you
for your participation.
·
It is VERY IMPORTANT that your
children wear shorts and PE shoes on Mondays for safety and agility. Swimming will continue on Wednesdays after
the holidays.
Your child must have a separate swim bag.
No plastic bags please. Your children cannot recognize
their belongings in a plastic shopping bag.
If possible, please dress your children in their swim wear from
home. Please have your children wear
clothes to change into after swimming which are easy for them to put on
themselves. Thank you.
Please
send in a new toothbrush with your child next term.
No toothpaste necessary thank you.
